Regional Overview.

Peru Mancora's northern tip favours North-westerly swells and as such only really works during the north hemisphere's winter. Home to Chicama arguably the world's longest wave this arid region is populated by numerous high quality reefs and points. Below the northern tip which is warmed by the Panama Current, the rest of the region plays host to consistent south-west swells from the Roaring 40s and southerly winds, predominantly (easterly) offshore in the mornings, swinging slightly westerly and onshore in the afternoons. These are a product of the cool Humboldt current and dominate the whole of this western coast of South America from central Peru downwards. The country's surf culture is perhaps the oldest in the world and is claimed to date back to 3000BC when the waves were ridden on reed boats. Water temperature here fluctuates between 17-25�C or 63-77�F.

Favorece la punta norte del Perú Mancora hacia el noroeste se hincha y, como tal, sólo funciona realmente durante el invierno del hemisferio Norte. Inicio de Chicama, podría decirse que la ola más larga del mundo esta árida región está poblada por numerosos arrecifes de alta calidad y puntos. Debajo de la punta norte, que es calentado por la Corriente de Panamá, el resto de la región acoge a sur reiterada hincha al oeste de la Ruge 40 y los vientos del sur, predominantemente (este) en alta mar por las mañanas, moviendo ligeramente el oeste y en tierra por las tardes . Se trata de un producto de la fría corriente de Humboldt y dominar la totalidad de la costa occidental de América del Sur desde el centro hacia abajo el Perú. Cultura del surf del país es quizá el más antiguo del mundo y se afirma que se remontan a 3000BC, cuando las olas eran montados en embarcaciones de totora. La temperatura del agua fluctúa entre aquí 17-25C o 63-77F.
