Situacion:
El departamento de Piura esta ubicado en el extremo Nor Oeste del Territorio peruano, Al sur de la linea Ecuatorial y al Oeste del flanco occidental de la Cordillera de los Andes, entre los 4 y 06 22 Latitud sur y 79 00 y 81 7 longitud oeste de la America del Sur.
Tiene una superficie de 36,403 Km2, equivalente al 2.79% del territorio nacional. Con su capital Piura, cuenta con 8 provincias: Ayabaca, Huancabamba, Morropon, Paita, Piura, Sechura, Sullana y Talara.
Limita con Tumbes y La Republica del ecuador al norte, Lambayeque hacia el sur, Cajamarca al este y el Oceano Pacifico al oeste.
Con Temperatura promedio en verano 32 C y de 16 C en invierno. El periodo de lluvias se da diciembre y marzo.
